An Outdoors Thanksgiving
At HQ we have a lot of American family so we look forward to Thanksgiving traditions and having a special meal to say thank you and look forward to the year ahead.
One of the things we love most is the opportunity for family time and getting creative outside. We are all about wrapping up and exploring. Wrap up in our snuggly Moose Wave hat and head outside with the kids head for a walk with a basket to start collecting items for your thanksgiving crafts. Items that are brilliant are; pine cones, acorns, leaves, twigs + pumpkins of course.
Little Hotdog Watson: Moose Hat. Water-resistant + extra snuggly
When you’ve collected everything head back to the house and get creative:
Acorn Painting
Grab the metallics and create a beautiful decoration for the table or use for counting activities after the meal.
Pinecone Turkeys
Paint in reds, yellows and oranges and then get creative with coloured paper to make the feathers. Perfect for playing with afterward as well as for place-settings.
Leaf Garlands
Make sure you are using dry leafs and get creative, paint or write on with metallics. Create a wreath for the door or a garland for the room. There is nothing like a sparkly pen to encourage children to write, especially their names.
Twig Banners
With your collection of twigs tie them together with twine and hang some of the gorgeous treasures the kids have found from them. Hang over the table or on the porch.
Painted Pumpkins + Gourds
Paint and decorate to fit your scheme, get creative and use gems to stick on or even (with supervision) get a hammer and add nails and tacks to make a sparkly pattern.
