Insect Week is buzzing closer 🐞🐝🐛🦋

Insect Week is buzzing closer (June 23rd), and you know what that means... it’s officially time for our Bug Hats 🐞🐝🐛🦋 Our Bug Hats are inspired by the magical little critters that spark endless curiosity and summertime wonder.

Insect Week is a time to celebrate the incredible world of bugs – from busy bees and fluttering butterflies to tiny beetles marching through our gardens.

Why insects matter? 🐛

Insects might be small, but they play a huge role in our world 💛

Bees pollinate our food, ladybirds keep gardens healthy, and butterflies add a touch of magic to any outdoor adventure.

Insect Week is the perfect opportunity to teach kids about these fascinating creatures and encourage them to look a little closer at the world around them.

Get involved during Insect Week 🐝

1. Go on a Bug Safari 🪰
Head to your garden, local park, or woods with a magnifying glass and notebook.
How many different insects can you find? Look under leaves, logs, and flowers –
bugs love to hide!

2. Make a Bug Hotel 🐝
Help insects find shelter by building a bug hotel from twigs, pinecones, bark, and old flower pots. It’s a great hands-on craft and a lesson in biodiversity.

3. Draw Your Favourite Insect 🎨
Set up a mini art station with pencils, markers, and paints. Ask your little ones to draw their favourite bug – whether it’s a bright ladybird or a spiky beetle.

4. Read Bug-Themed Books 📚
Snuggle up with insect-themed reads like The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Superworm, or Beetle Boy. Great for learning and winding down.

5. Play Bug Bingo 🐛
Create a bingo card with different bugs (ant, dragonfly, bee, etc.) and see who can spot the most throughout the week.

6. Plant a Flower 🌸
Sow wildflowers, lavender, or marigolds in your garden. These can attract bees and butterflies – perfect for insect-spotting at home.

Designed with curious kids in mind, our Bug Hats are more than just cute (though we do love that playful print). It’s packed with smart features to keep your little one protected, comfy, and ready for every outdoor adventure:

🧢 Our Sun Hats have super strength sun protection to protect young skin from harsh UVA (ageing) + UVB (burning) rays to factor 50+ This lasts for the lifetime of your hat.

🐝 LHW hats are finished with clever in-built mosquito repellent, created to help protect little faces. Designed for your little one’s sensitive skin.

🌬 Our signature styles are crafted with smart adapting fabric lining to keep your child’s head the perfect temperature. This prevents sweaty hat hair!

However you're celebrating Insect Week, don’t forget to tag us in your bug-tastic adventures – @littlehotdogwatson. We’d love to see your little explorers in action! 🐞
