How to stop being bitten by mosquitos on the face
Whenever I say built-in mosquito repellant the first answer I'm met with is 'erm whaaaat?' quickly followed by but 'why + how?!'
Well the the why is simple, it was incredibly difficult to protect a face from mozzies. I remember trying to swat them away from H on our first holiday and just thinking this is so pointless. I could cover her arms and legs but not her face.
The how is a bit more complicated. Trying to find a solution took me on a long design and development journey. Where I learnt about a fabric finish derived from plants that could be added to fabric. Similar, to the way you add a waterproof finish to a coat.
It has a smell undetectable to humans (honestly you can sniff it as much as you want and you won't smell anything) but mozzies don't like it.
The position of the hat means that it shields the face and helps repel those buzzies.
It's been a game changer for us, not just on holidays but at the allotment, the garden at school, walks in the countryside. Especially as sadly the girls have got my genetics and seem to err on the side of nasty reactions if they get bitten.
All Little Hotdog Watson sun hats have built in mosquito repellant to help keep mozzies away from the hard to protect face area.
