It's festival season! Over the years, festivals have become a perfect weekend getaway for families: a wide range of fun and engaging activities for kids, some of your favourite musical artists, and an excuse to wear face glitter: what could be better than that?! Across the UK there are some brilliant family friendly festivals for you to enjoy, and we've put together a little run through of some of our top picks:

Timber Festival
Feanedock, The National Forest, Leicestershire
1st- 3rd July 2022
Timber festival takes place in the beautiful surroundings of the national forest in Feanedock, just outside Ashby de-la Zouch in Leicestershire (birthplace of fictional Adrian Mole!). Focusing on the surroundings and beauty of the forests, there’s a huge offering of activities for families and adults alike.
We’d be checking out our favourite comedian Josie Long discussing her work with Arts Emergency, current UK poet laureate Simon Armitage, and learning circus skills with The Circus House. The Woodland Trust are also offering a wealth of child friendly activities to engage with nature and enjoy their surroundings!

Cornbury Festival
The Great Tew Park, Great Tew, Oxfordshire
July 8th, 9th & 10th 2022
With a line up featuring Bryan Adams, The Darkness and Jools Holland, Cornbury Festival in Oxfordshire is the perfect way to dance up a storm over the weekend! Aside from the musical line up, The Cornbury Kids Zone has got a number of activities for the kids, including puppet shows, jugglers, crafting and yoga! The festival also boasts a nannying service for daytime and evenings, allowing for a little child free time!

Latitude Festival
Henham Park, Suffolk
21st- 24th July 2022
Since its beginnings in 2006, Latitude festival has always had a fantastic family atmosphere in the beautiful Suffolk surroundings. For families this year we'd recommend comedian David O'Doherty reading from his third children's book, Aardman animation model making, and a breakdancing workshop with Kelfx & Francis. Latitude has it's own family camping area, so you can be away from those who want to play Wonderwall on their acoustic guitar long into the night!
Aside from the children's activities, we'd be checking out Everyday Sexism's Laura Bates, Phoebe Bridgers, comedian Maisy Adam, and Modest Mouse!
Top Tip: Latitude festival is set around a beautiful lake, so don't forget insect repellent! Our hats are coated with an inbuilt mosquito repellent- check them out here!

Standon Calling
Standon, Hertfordshire
21st-24th July 2022
With a musical line up featuring The Cribs, Sleaford Mods and Madness, there's a wide range of entertainment for the whole family! For the kids there's Horrible Histories, Dick and Dom and.... Mr Motivator (neon lycra not included in ticket price!)!! Dogs are welcome at Standon Calling, and on the Sunday there's even a dog show!
We also love the idea of a cashless festival, with cash being loaded on to a smart wristband- so no fumbling round for your money when you're wanting a bag of chips!
For children aged 4-12, a weekend camping ticket is £30 and under 4's £5.

Deer Shed Festival
Topcliffe, North Yorkshire
29th-31st July 2022
Set in the beautiful surroundings of North Yorkshire, Deer Shed is a perfect family festival with a great blend of activities for everyone. The kids have choices from KAPOW! Family friendly pro wrestling, French comedian Marcel Lucont, and Wilderwild wild activities including wild swimming!
For adults, we'd be checking out northern lo-fi duo The Lovely Eggs, comedian Rosie Jones, the meteorically rising Yard Act, and comedy podcaster Richard Herring!
If you've been looking at festival trolleys for kids, you might want to give them a try by renting them: at Deer Shed, you're able to rent a festival trolley complete with canopy and cushions from Slumber Trucks. Little ones can stay comfy and drop off for a little rest when all the excitement gets too much!

Camp Bestival
Lulworth Castle, Dorset 28th-31st July 2022
Weston Park, Shropshire 18-21st August 2022
Taking place across two venues in Dorset and Shropshire over the summer, Camp Bestival is BBC DJ Rob Da Bank's curated weekender that answers the age old question: what if Fatboy Slim and Mr Tumble appeared on the same line up??
Activities for kids include stop motion workshops, a zip wire, fancy dress competitions, and YolanDa Brown's Band Jam! For adults, we love Mr Scruff, reggae legend Sister Nancy, and Example!
Camp Bestival also offer a trolley hire service, and there's even a competition for the most elaborately decorated in Pimp My Trolley! Get your face glitter on and let's get dancing!
@VibesLifeUs rocking the Adventurer Bucket Hat in Tiger King at The Wildwood Rumpus in Cambridgeshire!
Don't forget your hat! Our hats offer UPF 50+ sun protection and are covered with a built in mosquito repellent- perfect for long days in the sun! We also have matching adult bucket hats so you can twin with your mini rockstars! Check out our summer hats here!
