Here's our top tips for making long car journeys with the kids more fun and less stressful.

The quickest game for the back of a car with kids. First person to spot a vehicle for every colour of the rainbow wins. Helps practise colours and makes you realise there's not that many pink cars around.

Snack Time

All journeys need snacks with kids. We love a bento box and fill with sandwiches, dried fruit, breadsticks, cucumber sticks and just maybe some car sweets.

For the car we are really into audio books and highly recommend Matilda as read by Kate Winslett.

Storage

We bought a car seat pocket two years ago and it was a game changer for not having to constantly pass things over. We fill them with the kids stuff before they set off and helps keep the car tidy too.

Stay Cool

Hot kids are not happy kids, in my experience. Our fave way to keep cool is keeping ice in the water bottles so they can use them to roll on arms and legs if they get hot.
