Learning to launch: PR and Marketing
It's been nearly two full months since launch and our feet have barely touched the ground.
I'm no expert in the world of PR and marketing and so to gain insight before I launched Little Hotdog Watson I attended the amazing at Mothers Meetings business club to learn more. They had brilliant guest speakers in the form of Rosie J Nixon, Lisa Smosarski and Liz Matthews. Their honest advice was to ring people up, speak to them, tell your story and be nice. Alongside this, they also talked about working with experts in their fields to help you.
Following their advice I met with Amy from Lucky 8 PR, Diary Directory. She really understood the brand and my values for it. We agreed to work on the launch together, a short project to support my own marketing. Her expertise and advice has been great and it took some of the pressure of those first few weeks of trying to chase the formal press side of things. I also followed the other advice given which was to just ring people up and talk to them.
I find it very hard to shout proudly about myself, and especially after having H my confidence took a real knock. The business has pushed me to step outside my comfort zone and speak up.
